Not Another Surprise Eggs Video!

I don't know about you but whenever my 1 year old gets a hold of the iPad, she always watches Kinder Surprise Eggs videos at some point.  As a new uploader on Youtube, I thought maybe I will not put up surprise eggs videos because I just don't know how I will be able to make it different than what's already out there.  But then one day, my husband decided to bring home a couple of boxes of these eggs and so I thought, ok let's see how it goes.

I like my toy videos to be about learning while showing the toys.  And whilst my toddler is still too young to actually play with small toys without adult supervision, she had so much fun watching me open the eggs and reveal the toys.  It is one of those activities that holds her attention and so engaging her to talk more and learn more words was easy.

Now, that I've seen how my toddler had fun and learned some new things at the same time (while trying her best to get a hold of the chocolate eggs lol) from this very simple activity, I don't think I'd mind making another surprise eggs video if I get a chance. :)

Shapes: A Short Story!

If you have looked at my K's Toys channel, you would notice that I like to make educational videos using my toddler's toys.  From learning colours, shapes, numbers to names of animals, fruits and more.  I am no expert but I do try to teach my little girl something when we play with her toys.  My child is not yet 2 but she can already identify different colours and shapes.  When she was starting to learn them, she went through a phase where she would answer "triangle" when I asked for the colour of the triangle.  Although now, she can already answer this correctly, it was my inspiration for this simple short story.  You can also watch my equally simple storytelling video on Youtube.

SHAPES:  A SHORT STORY

Once, a little star was looking for four shapes...

"Hello? I'm looking for a triangle," says Star.
"I'm a triangle," one says.
"I'm a triangle," another says.
"I'm a triangle," a third one says.
"Oh dear, oh dear.  I should be clear.  A purple triangle, I've come for here." says Star.
"I'm blue, that wouldn't be me," one says.
"I'm orange, that wouldn't be me," another says.
"I'm purple, that would be me!" the last one says.

And so, they moved on.

"Hello? We're looking for a square," says Star.
"I'm a square," one says.
"I'm a square," another says.
"I'm a square," a third one says.
"Oh dear, oh dear.  I should be clear.  A green square we've come for here." says Star.
"I'm yellow, that wouldn't be me," one says.
"I'm orange, that wouldn't be me," another says.
"I'm green, that would be me!" the last one says.

And so, they moved on.

"Hello? We're looking for a circle," says Star.
"I'm a circle," one says.
"I'm a circle," another says.
"I'm a circle," a third one says.
"Oh dear, oh dear.  I should be clear.  A pink circle we've come for here." says Star.
"I'm purple, that wouldn't be me," one says.
"I'm blue, that wouldn't be me," another says.
"I'm pink, that would be me!" the last one says.

And so, they moved on.

"Hello? We're looking for a rectangle," says Star.
"I'm a rectangle," one says.
"I'm a rectangle," another says.
"I'm a rectangle," a third one says.
"Oh dear, oh dear.  I should be clear.  A blue rectangle we've come for here." says Star.
"I'm green, that wouldn't be me," one says.
"I'm orange, that wouldn't be me," another says.
"I'm blue, that would be me!" the last one says.

And so, little Star's search is complete!
And they all went on adventures together.

Fruits and Vegetables Wooden Puzzle

Basic puzzles for toddlers such as this wooden puzzle is fantastic.  Not only do they keep the little ones occupied for some time, they also get to develop their fine motor skills, language and problem solving skills.

This wooden puzzle is quite simple but very colourful and shows beautiful cartoon-like pictures of fruits and vegetables such carrot, broccoli, grapes, strawberry and more.  Each piece has a small handle in the middle to help little hands in fitting them into the puzzle.

Watch the video to see what your little one can learn from this wooden puzzle!

Little Tikes Shape Sorter Ball

Shape sorter is one of my little one's favorite toys and mine as well.  This particular shape sorter from Little Tikes has eight different shapes in eight different colours with numbers etched on them.  Having said that, it is obvious why it is one of my favorites too.  Apart from developing motor skills, it also helped me teach my toddler the different shapes, colors and even numbers while she enjoyed sorting them.

The Little Tikes Shape Sorter ball is a basic one where the shapes are kept inside the plastic ball that has the different shapes' holes around it.  The ball does not require any batteries and opens in the middle by manually pulling at opposite poles to release the shapes.  The shapes that come with it are circle, square, triangle, cross, heart, star, pentagon and hexagon. They are in colors orange, green, light blue, blue, red, yellow, pink and purple respectively.

Stacking Cups Toy for Toddlers

One of the simple toys that my toddler loves until now are her stacking cups.  She loves building a tower with it (and then breaking it down), making knocking sounds with them and throwing them everywhere.  But apart from that, she learned her colors from them and loves counting them.

These stacking cups are really good because they are colourful with different animal faces etched at the bottom of each cup.  It keeps my little one entertained and occupied for quite some time everyday plus hearing her name the colors is great!

Gund Peek-a-Boo Bear

My toddler is now nearly 2 years old and I can remember like it was yesterday when she started playing peek-a-boo with us.  So, when my friend from the US sent her a Peek-a-Boo bear, she loved it straightaway!  It talks with a very friendly and playful voice and moves its arms so it encourages little ones to interact with it.  You can see the actual toy in the video below.

This is one of the best toys I've seen for babies that is simple enough for the little ones to enjoy and yet encourages interaction and looks really cute at the same time!
